It was reported that Malaysia might be expecting the arrival of a meteor shower on the 4th to 5th of January 2020. The meteor shower that is known as the Quadrantids is expected to reveal up to 120 meteors per hour!

Unlike other meteor showers that typically stay at their peak for over a period of two days, the Quadrantids is more special as it’s only at its peak for only a few hours⁠!

11pm of 4th January (Saturday) until the early hours of 5th January (Sunday).

So, if you don’t want to miss this exquisite phenomenon, you might want to look for yourself the perfect location!

In case if you don’t know, there’s actually some pointers you need to take note if you want to experience meteor showers. First, it’s recommended for you to stay at a secluded viewing spot⁠—best if away from the city lights. Then your eyes need to adjust to darkness for about 30 minutes. So once you’re at your prime location, just stare at the sky and watch the magnificence of the night sky.

If you can’t see the meteor showers, don’t be discouraged! External factors such as light pollution, weather and terrain might affect the visibility of the sky. Plus, meteor watching is a waiting game. Be patient and be calm.

Melaka — Pantai Pasi Klebang.

Pahang — Pulau Tioman, Cameron Highlands.

Terengganu — Pulau Gem.

Penang — Pantai Malinda.

Negeri Sembilan — Kampung Teluk Pelanduk, Seremban.
