Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You is one of my favourite all time Christmas song and guess what?? For the first time, this hit song which was launched in 1994, became the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 charts…after 25 years! Can you believe that?
What’s more interesting, Mariah’s song also tops the Rolling Stones chart all day this week and the digital platform, Amazon Music since last November.
When the 49 year old singer first launched her Christmas single in 1994 at the mere age of 24, it didn’t even make it to the Billboard Hot 100 charts but after few years, it finally landed the number 3 spot on the charts.
This top holiday hit has reached 600 million views on YouTube and this self proclaimed ‘Queen of Christmas’ has earned more that $60 million in royalties off the song.

As reported by the The New York Times, Carey, in an interview, demurred on the importance of hitting No. 1.
“It’s something my die-hard fans think about, and people that are really close to me are talking about it literally all year. But I don’t need something else to validate the existence of this song.
“I used to pick it apart whenever I listened to it, but at this point, I feel like I’m finally able to enjoy it. I just truly love the holidays. I know it’s corny, and I don’t care,” she said.
