YG Entertainment is really going through a tough times right now..
After being hit with scandal, issues among their label artists, we bet YG is not getting any good sleep at night..
In a recent news, reported from Sports Today, CL is said to finally leave YG Entertainment. The former member of 2NE1 made her first debut in 2009. 2NE1 has since become the number 1 K-pop girl group before the shocking disbandment in 2016.
However, the status of CL’s departure is still unclear as YG has released an official statement regarding to her contract:
“we’re still discussing contract renewals. We haven’t made any decisions yet regarding future plans.”
The reason of CL’s alleged departure is still questionable though there has been rumours that her long hiatus and her open critics to Yang Hyun-suk, the CEO of the group were the real reasons behind the alleged departure.
According to report, CL was also dropped from the comeback list as she hasn’t been active in the past 2 years. Her last single was Goodbye.
This isn’t the first time K-pop Idols decided to leave the agency, earlier this year, the departure of Seungri Big Bang and Former member IKON Bi has caused huge controversy among netizens. Seungri and IKON Bi drug scandal has effected the agency’s management.
If CL really leaves YG, well.. It won’t be the first for YG after all.
