These videos were ranked according to time spent watching, sharing, commenting, liking and more by viewers based in Malaysia. They are also a representation of the amazing variety of creativity shared on YouTube Malaysia throughout the past year.
Singers Syamel and Ernie Zakri conquered the top spot with their live performance of ‘Aku Cinta’.
Other notables in the top 10 are content from YouTube creator Alieff Irfan with his Ramadhan-theme short film about the challenges of fasting as well as this goosebump-inducing street performance.
These videos got Malaysian viewers entertained and amused with amazing homegrown music, light-hearted moment, and relatable tales that made us feel good all year long.
The Top Trending Music Video chart is also dominated by local talent, with singer Sufian Suhaimi crooning his way into the top three spots with his love song, Di Matamu, second to Indonesia’s Siti Badriah with her viral hit Lagi Syantik.
Malaysians were also singing along to Ben Ladin’s Hikayat Benladin, Ismail Izzani’s Luar Biasa and Floor 88’s Aqilah, in addition to international favorites like 뚜두뚜두 (DDU-DU DDU-DU) by BlackPink and Girls Like You by Maroon 5.
