It was reported by Allkpop that EXO member Kai’s father recently passed away.

On May 8th, 2018, SM Entertainment released a statement which confirmed the saddening news.

The agency wrote,

“Kai’s father passed away yesterday after suffering a chronic illness. Kai is currently at the wake, and a funeral will be held quietly for family and relatives.

“We ask for your consideration, so the family may grieve his father’s passing.”

Many would know EXO’s Kai to be a bright man with a great smile. However, right now, it must be a difficult time for him.

Hopefully, the singer will stay strong throughout.
