Demi was crowned Miss Universe 2017 against runner-up Laura Gonzalez from Columbia. She stole the spotlight when she was showing off her elegant walk in evening gowns and sexy body in bikinis

She wowed the crowd as she answered tough questions meant to challenge her intelligence. Beauty and brains!

In the final round, she answered Steve Harvey’s question, “What quality in yourself are you most proud of and how will you apply that quality to your time as Miss Universe?” and this is our Miss Universe’s answer,

“As Miss Universe you have to be confident in who you are as an individual. And Miss Universe is a woman that has overcome many fears and by that she is able to help other women to overcome their fears.

“She is a woman that nothing is ever too much to ask for and I think that is exactly who I am.”

The 22-year-old African beauty, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, hopes that her self-defence skills could encourage women to overcome any horrific situation.

This is due to her own personal experienced when she was once held at gunpoint after a month of winning the Miss South Africa title. This dark experience has led her to set up a self-defence campaign called Unbreakable.

`The campaign is all about equipping women with knowledge and skills to empower themselves and to avoid being put in any dangerous situations.

Wow, aside from beauty and brains, this gal has got a whole lot of brawn too!
