For all vintage and hippie lovers out there, if you ever wanted a Volkswagen Hippie bus as your dream car, now there’s a chance to get it. 

Although the iconic Hippie bus is no longer on sale, but this all-new revamped Volkwagen MicroBus has huge similarities with the Hippie bus.

According to Newsroom, the company that created iconic hippie bus back in the 1950s, Volkswagen, has made an official announcement that they will be releasing the award winning I.D. Buzz concept electric vehicle in 2022!

The company also plans to sell off the vehicle in 3 countries, United States, Europe and China.

This is the first time that Microbus concept will be infused with AI technology in the driver cockpit which means there’s the super cool self-driving feature.

Volkswagen CEO, Dr Herbert Diess, said:

“For me, the I.D. Buzz concept is the most beautiful and most exciting electric car in the world,”

“Our goal is clear: we want to make the fully electric, fully connected car a bestseller around the world. The iconic car of the electric age must be a Volkswagen.”

The vehicle will be using the I.D. Buzz concept as it has won several awards in the months since it was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show.

Then, the new car will have a front V in the bodywork which brings back the image of the two-tone predecessor on the original Bus.

However, the I.D. Buzz will have a light strip that surrounds the vehicle, making it the signature. The car will also feature LED headlights that act as “eyes” in a hexagon shape.

With near-zero body overhangs and 22-inch wheels, I.D. Buzz also manages to make the car look modern and timeless. 

In addition, the car will feature a huge amount of space for passengers or cargo and there’s also a front trunk, just like the original Volkswagen Beetle.

Besides, the all-new MicroBus will have a fast charge technology as the I.D. Buzz concept sports 369hp from electric motors on each axle that also provides all-wheel-drive.

Hence, with the VW fast-charge system, it can recharge about 80 percent of its energy capacity in 30 minutes at 150kW. 

Furthermore, this high tech car will also feature fully automated “I.D. Pilot” which is a type of autonomous technology that includes a fold-away steering wheel and pop-up laser scanners in the roof.

The new I.D. Buzz will be the seventh generation of the bus. Although the vehicle has evolved in style but it always retained its character, versatility, and ability to catch other’s attention.
